3 / 5 Stars

Paranormal romance isn’t the romance genre I normally reach for. I’m a realistic fiction reader, so getting into Sex Lies & Fruit Flies took me a while. I had to get used to the mermaid aspect of the story, which was more interesting than I expected it to be (to me). It was a really creative and well thought out storyline.

Morgan and Wyatt had a very strong connection. Morgan instantly trusted Wyatt to protect her and her secrets. They also had a very sensual relationship reminiscent of big tits videos on porn sites. If you like big tits you can try visiting on www.tubev.sex – both in human and mermaid form. I have to be honest. The mermaid-human sex creeped me out a little. Their other sexual encounters were hot like you’d expect to see on fuckedtube xxx.

Another little thing that bugged me at the beginning of Sex Lies & Fruit Flies was Morgan’s first person point of view. I think it might have been the way she was explaining her life up until that point to the reader rather than just delving into what was happening now. I was also a little surprised when I got a couple of chapter’s with Wyatt’s point of view toward the end.

My favorite part of Sex Lies & Fruit Flies was the last fourth of the book when there’s a big twist and a lot of suspense. How the story ended really intrigued me and had me wondering what was going to happen next.

Oh, and I can’t leave out the fact that the cover and title are a perfect match for the story!

If you’re a paranormal romance reader who loves mermaid tales filled with erotic and suspenseful scenes, you should pick up Sex Lies & Fruit Flies.

But when she stumbles upon the secret that Hayden, Flynn and her other close friends have kept from her, will she allow hurt feelings to get in the way of true love? 4.5 / 5 Stars

First thing I’m going to say is that this cover makes Rapturous look like a vampire love story. It’s not. Lol.

I hadn’t planned on reading Rapturous. The main characters from the first three books, Natalie and Flynn, annoyed me most of the time. I was kind of over them and their BDSM lifestyle that you could learn more about from websites similar to https://www.cartoonporno.xxx/. Then, I was looking for a quick and easy romance to read. Rapturous popped up in my Amazon recommendations and I thought why not give this series another chance with different main characters? The characters made all the difference.

Rapturous may have been an erotic BDSM novel, but it was more than just that. There was a really sweet romance between two people, Addie and Hayden, who have always been in love with each other but would never admit it. Addie wouldn’t admit it because he was her boss’ best friend and co-worker. Hayden didn’t want Addie to know about his extracurricular activities.

When a kiss at the Oscars gives Addie the push she needs to seduce Hayden, she has no idea what’s in store for her. She’s willing to give anything a try to have a shot with Hayden. Hayden wants Addie, but he’s not willing to sacrifice their friendship or his lifestyle to start a relationship with her. He thinks it’s best they walk away from each other. Their differences in opinion creates a sexy push pull. Websites similar to hdpornvideoxxx have content that also demonstrate this sexy push and pull.

I’m not really into reading BDSM novels. I admit I read Fifty Shades of Grey out of curiosity and then read the first three books in this series because I was a Marie Force fan, but it’s not something I go searching for. I felt like it was very well done in Rapturous. It wasn’t sensationalized or done in an uncomfortable way. Addie took an investigative approach toward learning about Hayden’s lifestyle and I felt like I was learning right along with her.

The BDSM lifestyle you can see on websites similar to fucked gay (see this), was not the main focus of the story, either. The main focus was the love and support Addie and Hayden had for each other. It was a very sweet love story. Oh, and I can’t forget steamy. 😉

Rapturous was definitely my favorite book in the Quantum series. Now, I’m looking forward to reading the fifth book in the series.

Review: Dare to Seduce by Carly Phillips

26055768Dare to Seduce (Dare to Love #8) by Carly Phillips

Publication Date: November 17, 2015

Synopsis:

Max Savage has wanted Lucy Dare for as long as he can remember. Age and Lucy’s older brothers have kept Max from making a move until now. Max has a chance to make Lucy his and he’s not going to let anything stop him from making her his. He has the perfect plan to seduce her.

My rating: 3 out of 5 stars

Dare to Seduce jumped right into the seduction immediately. Max wanted (to do brazen things to) Lucy. He didn’t hesitate making his move and desires known. Lucy didn’t seem to have a problem with that since they both had harbored secret feelings for each other for years and through other relationships.

Lucy may not have had a problem with the immediate seduction, but I kind of did. I get they had pent up sexual frustration from years of longing but it felt too quick to me. It’s not because I’m against jumping into the sack immediately in books. It happens all the time. But Lucy and Max were supposed to have this amazing connection based on past history. I was told they had this connection, but I didn’t feel the connection. I’m pretty sure it was because I didn’t get to read about their previous interactions except for from their thoughts. I would have liked a flashback or two to make me feel and believe it.

I started to like the story better once I got to know Max and Lucy better and they transitioned into a relationship. It was fun watching Max’s jealous side come out. And the sex scenes…Dang! They were hot.

I wish I would have connected as well with the characters in the first half of the book as I did in the second half of the book. The book was well written, but that initial missing connection made a book that could have been great good.

Dare to Seduce is part of the Dare to Love series but can be read as a standalone novel.

ARC Review: S.O.B by J.C. Valentine

S.O.B by J.C. Valentine

Publication Date: November 10, 2015

Publisher: J.C. Valentine

Note: **This novel is for MATURE ADULT READERS only. It contains explicit sexual content and alcohol use.**

Synopsis:

If there’s one person Vista Marquis never wants to see again, it’s Levi Black. It’s been years since she’s seen Levi, but she still isn’t over the way he broke her heart. Vista thought they had a special connection, but all Levi wanted was to add her name to the list of notches on his bedpost.

It might have been easier to move on if Levi wasn’t a famous soccer player — and her stepbrother. Not only does Vista have to hear all about him from her mother, she gets to see and hear about him and his woman of the moment in every celebrity gossip report.

Now, in order to establish her own physical therapy business, Vista is being forced to return home to Chicago and face the one man who has broken her heart. It’s going to be her job to make sure Levi recovers from his most current soccer injury. She plans on keeping things strictly professional. All she has to do is avoid Levi’s womanizing charms.

My rating: 5 out of 5 stars

I’m going to have to admit that I wasn’t so sure what I was going to think of S.O.B prior to reading it. I love J.C. Valentine’s writing and the creative situations she comes up with, but I was curious to see how she was going to set this one up. I had never read a step-brother/step-sister romance before. I was worried it might be too taboo, too pseudo-incestuous for my tastes.

S.O.B was neither of those two things. Levi and Vista were not blood related. They were not even raised together. They lived in the same house for a short period of time before their parents married. That was shortly before Vista left for college. Basically, they were “brother and sister” through their parents marriage alone. They didn’t even share the same last name.

S.O.B felt more like a second chance erotic romance than a taboo love story. Levi was a cocky, famous athlete who walked away from the one girl he really wanted. Vista was a strong, independent female determined to make her own way. She wasn’t going to fall for the one man who shattered her heart at eighteen.

Levi and Vista’s reconnection was sexy and steamy. The chemistry between these two was off the charts! Levi was just the right amount of cocky and exactly what I would expect a sports star to be. He also had a sweet softer side when it came to Vista that I adored. I loved how strong Vista was. It was really cool that J.C. Valentine didn’t let her back down from standing up to Levi. Her backbone was one of my favorite thing about her.

The book wasn’t just filled with steamy moments, though. S.O.B had a great storyline. It was a lot of fun and cute at times. There were even a few surprises that I didn’t see coming. I enjoyed watching the entire story unfold.

If you’re looking for an erotic romance with a fun storyline, I would recommend S.O.B. It’s a fun, steamy read.

ARC Review: Luxe

Luxe by Ashley Antoinette

Publication Date: September 8, 2015

Publisher: St. Martin’s Griffin

Synopsis:

Bleu Montclair’s life has been anything but easy growing up in Flint, Michigan. At eighteen, she’s seen and done things that no kid should have. Lucky for her, Bleu has a chance to get out of Michigan and go to college at her dream school, UCLA.

But living her dream is way harder than Bleu expected. Her partial scholarship doesn’t cover enough of her costs. She’s struggling and the only way out is to take an opportunity her roommate gives her to make a lot of money fast. The opportunity will either be her saving grace or her downfall.

My rating: 3 out of 5 stars

I’ve been sitting here trying to think of how to rate and review Luxe. It’s a hard one for me because while I didn’t enjoy the story, the writing was excellent. The book was fast-paced and had my attention from the first paragraph of the prologue. It felt real, raw and gritty.

I want to say it was too dark for me, but that can’t be the case. I’ve read books that are way darker and enjoyed them. I think it was more the hopelessness of the book. It started off with druggie parents, two deaths and a mention of a previous rape. That was all in the first 40 pages. It didn’t slow down from there. Horrendous situation after situation kept pushing Bleu down. Even things that should have been happy like college or a new amazing boyfriend were riddled with devastation. I didn’t see how things could get better. And just when I was starting to get my hopes up — BAM! Cliffhanger.

While there was nothing wrong with Luxe, I can’t say I enjoyed reading it. I needed a little sunlight in the darkness. So, I guess I just have to be honest and say it wasn’t the book for me.

Don’t let that deter you from reading it. Like I said, the writing was very realistic. If you’re a fan of complex characters dealing with drug addiction, violent crimes, etc. this might be the book for you.

**Thank you to Goodreads and St. Martin’s Griffin for the opportunity to read and honestly review an ARC of Luxe.

Dare to Rock

Dare to Rock (Dare to Love #7) by Carly Phillips

Publication Date: August 4, 2015

Synopsis:

With a popular fashion and makeup video blog, no one would know that Avery Dare hates the spotlight. Avery doesn’t need fame or fortune. She’s content to live a quiet life.

Grey Kingston has achieved everything he hoped he would when he left Miami all those years ago. Along with his band, Tangled Royal, Kingston has found fame and fortune. He has everything he ever wanted — except Avery Dare. No matter how many women he has slept with, he can’t get Avery Dare out of his mind. Now that he’s ready to leave the spotlight behind, Grey is hoping they can rekindle their flame.

When Avery receives an invitation to visit Grey at one of his concerts, she’s not sure she should go. Avery still holds a special place in her heart for Grey, and she’s not sure if she’s ready to rip open that wound.

Grey knew getting Avery to believe he was ready to live a normal life would be hard, he just didn’t expect it to be this hard. He knows he hurt her, but he didn’t expect a deranged fan to stalk her. Now, it’s going to take even more to convince her that they’re meant to be.

My rating: 4 out of 5 stars

If you’re looking for a fun, steamy romance with a hint of rock and roll, Dare to Rock is for you. I really enjoyed Avery and Grey’s second chance at love story. They had great chemistry together and their relationship was hot, hot, hot!  My favorite part of the story was getting to know more about Avery. Having read all of the previous books in the series, it was cool to finally get her perspective on her father and the rest of the Dare clan.

Like I mentioned before, Dare to Rock is part of a series. It’s best to have read the previous novels in the series before reading Dare to Rock. The Dare family is large and close. Characters and storylines from previous books are mentioned in each book. Just to warn potential readers: Dare to Rock is a contemporary romance, but some novels in the series are erotic romances.

** I received an electronic copy of Dare to Rock from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

ARC Review: Fall for Him

Fall for Him (Forbidden Trilogy #3) by J.C. Valentine

Publication Date: August 25, 2015 (Today!!!)

Publisher: J.C. Valentine

Synopsis:

Life is all about choices. Jo thought she made the right ones, but it turns out she was wrong. She’s lost everyone she ever cared about.

Now, Jo’s going to have to fight for what she wants. She’s going to have to take back control of her life and it’s not going to be easy.

My rating: 5 out of 5 stars

The Forbidden Triology hooked me from the beginning with Dance for Me. I couldn’t help but get wrapped up in college student/stripper Jo’s story. Her “relationship” with HIM was hot, hot, hot! Plus, there were so many twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. The cliffhanger at the end shocked me and I couldn’t wait for Lie to You to be released.

Lie to You (read my review here) continued the fast-paced, intense, scorchingly hot storyline and has some surprises of its own. Of course, there was another great cliffhanger that left me wanting more.

So, I was super excited to be able to read an ARC of Fall for Him. I couldn’t wait to see what was in store for Jo. So much had changed for her since Dance for Me. I couldn’t help but wonder what surprises J.C. Valentine had in store for readers this time.

I loved Fall for Him. I thought it was the perfect ending to Jo’s story. And that’s all I’m saying because I don’t want to ruin the series for anyone that hasn’t read it yet. It’s an amazing series filled with many surprises. Readers that like enjoy erotic romances, like Fifty Shades of Grey or Bared to You, will enjoy this series.
