I’m really kicking myself for putting off reading Banking the Billionaire for so long. I’ve wanted to read it since I finished both Tapping the Billionaire (Bad Boy Billionaires, #1) and Tapping Her (Bad Boy Billionaires, #1.5), but I got sidetracked with my ever-growing TBR. I’m so happy I was in the mood for a rom-com and downloaded it. BEST. DECISION. EVER.

To give a little series background, Banking the Billionaire is the second book in the Billionaire Bad Boys series. I would highly suggest reading both Tapping the Billionaire  and Tapping Her prior to reading this book. The first book introduces the reader to Kline and Georgie. They’re the ones who introduce Cassie and Thatch to each other. The Tapping Her novella “finishes” Kline and Georgia’s story while also giving us a first look at Cassie and Thatch getting to know each other. Both are hilarious and help set up all of the crazy fun that’s to come when Cassie and Thatch fall for each other in Banking the Billionaire.

Banking the Billionaire is probably the funniest rom-com I’ve ever read. It was the perfect mix of crazy characters, hilarious situations, and witty dialog. I laughed out loud more times than I could count. My husband kept shooting me weird looks while I was reading because I kept laughing nonstop while he was watching some suspenseful TV show. I couldn’t help it! It was just so hilarious!

I absolutely adored Cassie and Thatch. Cassie was crazy and outrageous. She would do just about anything to get a rise out of Thatch. She’s definitely someone I would love to have as a best friend. Thatch was just crazy, but also cocky and sweet. He’s currently on top of my book boyfriend list at the moment. They were the perfect match. Both were headstrong, adventure seeking, fun-loving pranksters. They just simply got each other.

Not only was Banking the Billionaire funny, it was super sexy. Normally, there are just sexy moments in a book. In Baking the Billionaire those moments were endless. Cassie and Thatch had this amazing chemistry. They were so sexually attracted to each other. Their thoughts constantly revolved around their sinful desires and when they were going to be acted on. And when they got down and dirty, it was off the charts steamy.

I cannot say enough how much I loved Banking the Billionaire. It just so much fun to read. The minute I was done with it, I had to pick up the next novella in the series to get more Cassie and Thatch. I could read about them forever!

If you’re a fan of sexy romantic comedies, you really need to read Banking the Billionaire and the entire Billionaire Bad Boys series. Start at the beginning and enjoy the ride. It’s so worth it!

Review: The Sexy One by Lauren Blakely

the sexy one coverThe Sexy One
Author: Lauren Blakely
Publication Date: October 15, 2016
Publisher: Lauren Blakely Books
Genre: Contemporary Romance, New Adult, Erotica

Rating: ? ? ? ? ?

Synopsis:

From NYT Bestselling author Lauren Blakely comes a sexy new standalone romance…

Let me count the ways why falling into forbidden love is not my wisest move…
1. She works with me every single day.
Did I mention she’s gorgeous, sweet, kind and smart?
2. She works in my home.
Playing with my five-year-old daughter. Teaching my little girl. Cooking for my princess. Which means…
3. She’s the nanny.
And that makes her completely off-limits… But it doesn’t stop me from wanting her. All of her.

***

The other nannies in this city don’t call him the Sexy One for nothing. My boss, the amazingly wonderful single father to the girl I take care of every day is ridiculously hot, like movie star levels with those arms, and those eyes, and that body. Reminds me of some of the studs I’ve seen on videos similar to www.sexmature.xxx. Not to mention, the way he dotes on his little girl melts me all over. But what really makes my knees weak are the times when his gaze lingers on me. In secret. When no one else is around.

I can’t risk my job for a chance at something more… can I? But I don’t know how to resist him much longer either…

Since reading Lauren Blakely’s Well Hung put me in such a good mood, I decided to read The Sexy One. The Sexy One is another one her connected standalone novels. It stars Simon (you may remember him as the hot single dad who hired Harper to do a magic show for his daughter in Mister O) and Abby (Harper’s best friend). You don’t have to read the connected books prior to reading The Sexy One, but they are so much fun that I would recommend reading them before or after this one.

The Sexy One was so much fun to read! I loved that it was written in dual points of view instead of just from the man’s perspective. It was fun to get Abby’s point of view this time. The story wouldn’t have been as strong without it. She was this really kind and sweet person, but she also had inner vixen that I loved. Simon wasn’t as cocky as some of Ms. Blakely’s other leading men. He was self-confident, but he wasn’t a womanizer and he didn’t have a huge ego. Simon was just a really great guy. His doting single dad status made him super sexy.

One of my favorite things about The Sexy One was the nanny-employer connection between Simon and Abby. It gave this book a forbidden love feel, but it wasn’t angst-y or uncomfortable. There wasn’t a bunch of drama to their relationship, and I really liked that. Simon and Abby’s relationship grew naturally from attraction and friendship. There was a special sweetness to it because of both of their relationships with Simon’s daughter.

I absolutely loved every minute of reading The Sexy One. It’s the perfect book if you’re looking for a romance that’s going to make you swoon, laugh and fan yourself a bunch.

Synopsis:

From the NYT Bestselling author of MISTER O, comes a hot and hilarious new standalone…

Here’s what you need to know about me—I’m well-off, well-hung and quick with a joke. Women like a guy who makes them laugh—and I don’t mean at the size of his d*ck. No, they want their funny with a side of huge… not to mention loyal. I’ve got all that plus a big bank account, thanks to my booming construction business. Yup. I know how to use all my tools.

Enter Natalie. Hot, sexy, smart, and my new assistant. Which makes her totally off-limits…

Hey, I’m a good guy. Really. I do my best to stay far away from the kind of temptation she brings to work.

Until one night in Vegas…

Yeah, you’ve heard this one before. Bad news on the business front, drowning our sorrows in a few too many Harvey Wallbangers, and then I’m banging her. In my hotel room. In her hotel room. Behind the Titanic slot machine at the Flamingo (don’t ask). And before I can make her say “Oh God right there YES!” one more time, we’re both saying yes—the big yes—at a roadside chapel in front of a guy in press-on sideburns and a shiny gold leisure suit.

But it turns out what happened in Vegas didn’t stay in Vegas. And now, my dick doesn’t stay in my pants when she’s around. I try to resist. Honest. But the more we try to keep our hands to ourselves, the more we end up naked again, and the more time I want to spend with her fully clothed, too.

The question now is…do I take this woman to be my ex-wife?

I downloaded Well Hung because I desperately needed a funny, sexy romance to put me in a good mood. I knew I could count on Lauren Blakely to bring a smile to my face, and she totally did. 🙂 Well Hung was so addicting I couldn’t put it down.

In Well Hung, Wyatt Hammer tells us all about how his assistant Natalie becomes his soon-to-be ex-wife after a business trip to Las Vegas. Wyatt’s point of view is the perfect mixture of sweet and cocky. He narrates his sexy encounters with Natalie in only a way a man could. I loved his hesitation of acting on his feelings towards his employee and watching him figure out maybe he didn’t want an ex-wife.

Well Hung is a standalone novel with new main characters, but it does include some supporting characters from Big Rock and Mister O. You don’t have to read those books to enjoy Well Hung, but I would recommend you read them anyways because they are so much fun. So. Much. Fun. Just like Well Hung was. I absolutely loved it! I highly recommend reading Well Hung to mature romance readers out there. It’s one of my most favorite Vegas marriage stories ever.  You won’t be able to keep the smile off your face!

Review: Author Anonymous by E.K. Blair

29613610-1Author Anonymous
Author: E.K. Blair
Publication Date: August 29, 2016
Genre: Romance, Erotica, Based on a True Story

Rating: Unrated – Explanation in review.

Synopsis:

*An intoxicatingly risqué stand-alone book.

She’s an author.
She’s a mother.
She’s a wife.
She’s a fraud, a woman marked and bound by her own deceit.

Experience the astounding tale of how Anonymous battled through a year of scandals and betrayals, how her world fell from its axis with a single choice, and how she lost herself between reality and fantasy.

This is a stand-alone tangled in lust, heartbreak, and contrition.

*Based on a true story.

I’m going to start out by apologizing for this review. It is going to be one giant rant. That can’t be helped, so I’m sorry. I’m also going to warn that if you’re not into books with cheating, this one definitely isn’t for you. The entire focus of Author Anonymous is cheating. There’s nothing happy in it either, so if you’re looking for a dark but uplifting romance this isn’t it.

Let’s start with what I actually liked about this book. E.K. Blair deserves 5 stars for her writing. It’s dark, gritty, and unapologetic. I applaud her for being able to portray the characters the way she did. Their actions and thoughts were hard to read, so they had to be hard to write.

Now for the rant…

I wanted to DNF this book so badly. I basically had to force myself to read it. It was morally disturbing to me. I hated the main character Tori. I hated her thoughts, her actions, her truths. Nothing about what she did was okay. I don’t care what her reasons were. I’m a wife and mother. I’ve been married for 10 years, so I can understand some of her complaints about her marriage but nothing excuses her from the choices she made. I try not to be judgemental, but I’m judging here. She knew what she was doing the entire time. It was intentional. She knew she was hurting everyone around her and did it anyway.

It’s hard to explain my thoughts about the male characters in this “love triangle” without giving too much away, so I’ll keep it simple. I hated Alec. I didn’t trust anything about him. He was just as horrible as Tori. Landon was okay. He wasn’t an innocent bystander, but he wasn’t really malicious either. I understood why he did what he did and I was okay with it for the most part. I also want to point out that Landon said something about 40% in that I really agree with when it comes to cheating.

Obviously, reading Author Anonymous was a struggle for me. I was so looking forward to getting to the end and being able to come to terms with what this book had dealt me. I thought I was getting what I wanted until E.K. Blair did something I was not expecting. I don’t know whether to be pissed off at her or call her a genius. Considering how I felt about the story, I’d probably lean towards pissed off. If I hadn’t been reading this book on my Kindle, I would have thrown it at the wall or, better yet, burnt it!

I seriously hope the real Tori is never revealed. I don’t want to know who she is. I have to admit it took guts for her to ask E.K. Blair to write her story and put it out there. Although, now that I think about it, it seems like an attention-getting scheme.

Ugh. So how do I give Author Anonymous a rating? On one hand, the writing was brilliant. If it wasn’t based on a true story, I might have thought E.K. Blair was super creative for coming up with such a frustrating story and character. I do want to explore her other books. On the other hand, I hated this book the entire time I was reading it (except for maybe one or two chapters) partly because I knew it was based on a true story. I really did want to DNF it. I thought maybe I could come up with a middle ground rating, but I didn’t feel like any rating could properly portray my feelings. I guess that means I’m leaving it unrated. I will say that I’m glad that I was able to borrow this book from the Amazon Prime Kindle Lending Library. I think I would have been angry if I had spent money on a book that was so infuriating.

Synopsis:

Feisty American. Hot Scot. Passion Ignites.
Good-girl Erica Teague is out on bail, charged with a crime her ex-lover committed. Her desperate bid to experience one wild night of sizzling sex, before her trial and certain conviction, lands her in the arms of Lachlan MacTaggart, a hot Scot with a secret past. She can’t resist his offer to enjoy one month of sex and companionship with no strings. But when their hot fling gets personal, can their passion free their imprisoned hearts?
Dangerous in a Kilt is an award-winning romance and the first book in the Hot Scots series. Upcoming books will feature Lachlan’s equally hot brothers.

Dangerous in a Kilt is the first book in erotic romance writer Anna Durand’s new series Hot Scots. In Dangerous in a Kilt, Erica Teague is reeling with the knowledge she’s going to jail for something her seedy ex did. Erica is looking to escape her thoughts for the night by looking for a casual hook up. It couldn’t work out more perfectly when she ends up in hot Scot Lachlan MacTaggart’s arms. What was meant to be a one night stand quickly turns into an agreement of one month of delightfully naughty sex without any emotional entanglement. Keeping their personal lives separate from their affair becomes harder the more time they spend together.

This book was such a fun and dramatic read! The fun was in all of the witty banter and super sultry scenes. I loved all the Scottish words Lachlan mixed into his sentences and could imagine his sexy accent in my mind. I didn’t blame Erica for lusting after his hot body and smooth words. He was almost too hot to handle!

The drama came with all of the secrets Erica and Lachlan were keeping from each other while attempting to keep things casual. The way they navigated around their secrets was so much fun to read. I already knew Erica’s, but I enjoyed guessing as to what was going on in Lachlan’s life. Plus, keeping things casual created a fun drama all of its own.

The only thing I would have liked to have seen added to the story was Lachlan’s point of view. I loved knowing what was going on in Erica’s head and I think knowing what Lachlan was thinking and his secrets might have added even more fun.

Dangerous in a Kilt was an entertaining erotic romance. I really enjoyed reading it. I would recommend it to readers who enjoy erotic romances with a side of humor and a touch of mystery.

Sawyer Bennett

Review:

Rating: ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆

This series is so addicting! Each book ends in a cliffhanger and after that ending in Sugar Rush I had to read Sugar Free immediately. I needed to know what happened!

Sugar Free begins immediately following the cliffhanger in Sugar Rush. The reader gets the answers they needed to know. It also shows just how far Beck is willing to go to keep Sela safe. The sensuality of their relationship continued to be off the charts hot, but the situations they were dealing with took a greater focus than their sex lives.

I continued to love Sela and Beck despite some moments of major stupidity on their parts. Beck continued to be a stand up guy, doing everything he could to keep those he loves safe. I didn’t agree with many of his decisions, but I liked what he was trying to do. Sela’s character felt more helpless in this installment than the others. She lost a little bit of her spark and determination, but it was understandable.

My favorite thing about Sugar Free was that I was so wrapped up in the story I didn’t see the ending coming. I was definitely surprised by how everything wrapped up. I really loved how everything tied up.

The only thing I thought went a little overboard were the multiple time jumps in the epilogue. It was fun to see how life was later for everyone, but I would have been happier with just one major time jump. I guess I’m just not a fan of extending the ending multiple times.

Sugar Free was a great ending to a really fun story. I would highly recommend the Sugar Bowl series if you enjoy books with a lot of sexy time and a little suspense.

jaggerad1-1

REVIEW:

Rating: ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆

Jagger is the second book in the Broken Doll series by Heather C. Leigh. It picks up right from where the first book in the series, Junkie, left off. Jagger, or Boss, is Austin’s drug dealer king. He’s fallen for Miri, a junkie who had the nerve to stumble onto his property and ask for drugs. When his relationship with Miri is discovered by his enemies, Jagger will do anything to protect the woman he loves. That’s all you’re getting for the plot because I don’t want to spoil the cliffhanger Junkie left off with.

The second book in the series was just as dark and twisted as the first. The brutal scenes immediately start off in Austin’s drug world and continue throughout the book. There’s barely a break in drama and intensity for more than a chapter or two. Heather C. Leigh did an amazing job portraying a dark and gritty world filled with violence. I have to warn this book is not for the faint of heart. There’s way too many gruesome details. I found myself having to take mental breaks to combat the intensity of it all.

Jagger and Miri’s relationship continued its surprisingly sweet and sexy path through the violence and destruction of the drug world. The romantic in me loved the parts of the book were when they were interacting with each other. Those were my favorite moments in this dark tale. Jagger and Miri proved their willingness to do anything it took to be together. Their chemistry was off the charts, and the sensual moments that had with each other were so erotic.

Jagger was a great conclusion to a twisted series. Readers who enjoy dark romances are bound to enjoy the Broken Doll series.

Heather C. Leigh is the author of the Amazon best selling Famous series. She likes to write about the ‘dark’ side of fame. The part that the public doesn’t get to see, how difficult it is to live in a fishbowl and how that affects relationships.

Heather was born and raised in New England and currently lives outside Atlanta, GA with her husband, 2 kids, and French Bulldog, Shelby.

She loves the Red Sox, the Patriots, and anything chocolate (but not white chocolate, everyone knows it’s not real chocolate so it doesn’t count) and has left explicit instructions in her will to have her ashes snuck into Fenway Park and sneakily sprinkled all over while her family enjoys beer, hot dogs, and a wicked good time.

My favorite authors are Dan Wells, Ken Follett, and Stephen King.

Review: Four Letter Word by J. Daniels

Series: Dirty Deeds, #1
Author: J. Daniels
Publication Date: October 4, 2016
Genre: New Adult, Contemporary Romance
Note: I received an ARC from Forever via NetGalley in exchange for an unbiased review.

Rating: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Synopsis:

Fate. Hate. Love. Lies.
Which four letter word will change their lives forever?

Sydney Paige was never so mortified to hear the words “wrong number” in her life. She meant to tell off the guy who broke her best friend’s heart, but unleashed her anger on a perfect stranger instead. And now her world is turned upside down by the captivating man who wants to keep her on the line.

Brian Savage is living a life he’s quickly come to hate-until Sydney’s wild rant has him hooked and hungry for more. Soon the sexy woman on the phone becomes the lover in his bed. But Brian has secrets, and the closer he lets Syd get, the harder it is to shield her from the devastating mistakes of his past . . .

Why have I not read anything by J. Daniels before? Seriously. I’ve been missing out!

J. Daniels’s writing was impressive. Four Letter Word was told from both Sydney and Brian’s points of view. I loved the dual narration. Being able to read what was going on in both of their minds really helped cement their connection and the story. The banter between them was witty, sexy and so fun. I couldn’t get enough of it!

Sydney and Brian were amusing characters. How they met and how their relationship developed was fascinating. Their characters had such intriguing pasts. Sydney was coming to terms with the fact that her life wasn’t going the direction she always thought it would. Brian was struggling with past decisions and couldn’t see the good in his life. Their random phone call sparked a connection they never could have imagined. It was so much fun to watch the story unfold.  Plus, it was super sexy! I have to admit that I was constantly fanning myself!

Another thing I loved about Four Letter Word was the supporting characters. They were awesome! Every one of them brought something fun to the story. I could see so many possibilities for upcoming books in this series. I was super excited to see the next book is about Legs and Jamie! It’s December 6th release date can’t come soon enough!

I loved this book so much! There wasn’t one thing I would change about it. New adult readers will enjoy this incredibly sexy and funny romance.

Synopsis:

He and I met under a cloud of clichés:
Boy meets girl. Boy charms girl. Boy screws girl.
Our story was supposed to end right after the orgasms, right after we went our separate ways.

But then we saw each other again…

And neither of us could walk away.

Our rules were simple.
Our passion was scandalous.
Our hearts were supposed to be safe…

But when you find something so all-consuming–something so intoxicating and inescapable, you’ll risk everything you’ve ever had, even if you’re destined to crash and burn.

This is us.
This is our messed up love.
This is turbulence.

Over a year ago, I was sad to learn Whitney G. was postponing the release of her upcoming novel Turbulence I absolutely love her writing and was sad to have to wait for this book’s release. I was super excited when I saw that I was finally going to get to read it. 🙂 I don’t want to spoil the surprises of the book for anyone, so this review might seem a little sparse.

Turbulence is the story of Gillian, a woman who is on the hunt for a one night stand. She meets the perfect man for the job. Jake’s a pilot who’s all about sex without strings. Neither of them plan on seeing each other after that night, but the sex is just too good to pass up. Soon they’re hooking up as much as they can with the rule that their relationship never goes beyond sex.

This was such a fun story to read! Whitney G.’s writing was as addicting as always. Her characters were complex, and I loved how their backstories were revealed little by little. There were so many surprises and twists throughout the story that I didn’t see coming. Parts of it that I found weird or confusing at first tied in perfectly at the end. I absolutely loved the experience of reading this book. Readers who love a sexy story that has twists and turns that unravel slowly throughout a book will love Turbulence.

Wicked Bond
The Wicked Horse Series Book #5
By: Sawyer Bennett
Release Date: September 13, 2016

Synopsis:

Bridger Payne is an enigma that no one can figure out. Wise beyond his years, eerily intuitive and sexy as hell, every woman in The Silo wants him. None can have him. Not the real man, anyway. He might wield the lash for you if you ask prettily, but he’ll get no gratification from it. He’ll definitely make you scream, but he won’t think twice about you when he walks away. Bridger carries the darkest of secrets. He’s filled with too much pain. He’s utterly untouchable. Until she came along. **Warning: this book has sex in it. Lots of sex. Dirty sex. The Wicked Horse Series is a bit different than what Sawyer Bennett normally writes. While you’ll still enjoy fabulous characters, a suspenseful story, some witty banter and an epic romance, there’s just… a lot of sex. You’ve been warned.

REVIEW:

Rating: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Sawyer Bennett saved the best for last with her fifth and final book in The Wicked Horse series. In Wicked Bond we finally get Bridger Payne’s story. We’ve gotten a glimpse of him throughout the series, but he’s been somewhat of a mystery. I loved getting to know Bridger, his past and his motivations. He was everything I hoped he would be.

This story wasn’t all about Bridger, though. Sawyer Bennett created the perfect woman for Bridger. Maggie was sweet a woman who needed saving, but also a lot of strength inside her. She was just what Bridger needed in his life.

Wicked Bond was an amazing conclusion to a raw, sexy and gritty erotic romance series.

When not bringing fictional romance to life, Sawyer is a chauffeur, stylist, chef, maid, and personal assistant to a very active toddler, as well as full-time servant to two adorably naughty dogs. She believes in the good of others, and that a bad day can be cured with a great work-out, cake, or a combination of the two.
