Get Your (Book) Travel On

Summer is coming to an end here in the Pacific Northwest. I am ready for fall, but not quite ready to let summer go. Summer seems to be a time everyone loves to travel, so in the spirit of keeping summer going I’m going to share with you some of my favorite travel romances.

Meghan Quinn takes Bonnie (and us) along to a small Scottish town to find love and purpose.

Jen Frederick takes us along on emotional journey to South Korea to find Hara’s birthparents.

In Karen White’s book we travel to London with journalist Maddie to interview Precious about her life in London prior to WWII.

Robinne Lee takes Solène to many destinations as she embarks on a whirlwind affair with a famous, much younger musician.

There may be trouble in paradise for Chloe Liese’s characters, but visiting the Hawaiian islands is always a good time.

If you’re looking for a more magical destination, I would recommend you visit The House in the Cerulean Sea.

This one is actually set during the holidays, but there are so many fun traditions and places in Germany that Meghan Quinn’s characters visit. It would still make for some summer fun.

Summer trip to New Zealand? Kelly Siskind has got you covered.

Want a family vacation in Hawaii? It won’t be your family, but it will be entertaining.

Feeling like a crazy cruise adventure? Spend a semester at sea with Rebecca Yarros’s extreme athletes.

How about spending the summer in Rome with a friend?

Maybe family time in Hawaii wasn’t for you, but how about a fake honeymoon?

Here’s another one that visits many locations around the world.

Have you read any of these or have anymore ideas for books that will fill our travel wants and needs as fall rolls in?

  1. Yes. I will go to all these places with you. I actually read quite a few of these. Roman Crazy did not get enough love, and it was a 5-star hit for me. I wish they had written more books in that series.

  2. The House in the Cerulean Sea… I love that book so much! Playboy Pilot has been on my TBR forever, I need to pick it up. Most of these are on my Goodreads TBR. Love the topic, Deanna! 😍

  3. Love your list! I want to read half of these just for the places they’re set in. I mean Scotland and Hawaii are always a good idea…in real life, or in books. 😀

        1. I don’t know if you would love With You All the Way or not. I would be curious to hear what you thought of it.

  4. I love travelling through books. Unhoneymooners sounds like a fun read. Will keep it mind when I next plan on a Hawaii trip. Great list!

  5. I could read travel books forever! I feel like I am seeing The House in the Cerulean Sea everywhere I turn and I feel so guilty for not having read it yet! Heart & Seul sounds like one that I will enjoy as well. Great list! 🙂

  6. Such a fun post!! BUT, I am so over the near 100 degree temps down here, and I want some fall weather. LOL! I’m betting the summer weather is much more pleasing up where you’re at, though, so I can’t blame you.
