Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Meant to Read in 2020

Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday!

Top Ten Tuesday is an original weekly feature created hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is:

Books I Meant to Read in 2020 and Didn’t Get T0

1. Us Against You
Author: Fredrik Backman

I’ve wanted to read this one ever since I read Beartown last year, but I just couldn’t bring myself to read it this year with everything being so heavy in real life.

2. Dear Emmie Blue
Author: Lia Louis

I saw rave reviews for this one and requested it from my library. I got it and then ran out of time to read it.

3. The Wedding Deal
Author: Cindi Madsen

I read the second book in this series and was planning to read the first. I never got around to it. Maybe this year.

4. Reclamation
Author: Lauren Rowe

I read a bunch of Lauren Rowe’s books this year, but I did it backwards series wise and so I already kind of know what happens in this one. I read the first book and meant to read this second and the rest. Once again, never did.

5. The Last Time We Say Goodbye
Author: Cynthia Hand

I became a Cynthia Hand fan last year and wanted to read this one. It’s another I got from the library and then ran out of time to read. Plus, YA hasn’t been doing it for me the last few months.

6. Getaway Girl
Author: Tessa Bailey

Another book I saw rave reviews for, downloaded because it was free, and still haven’t read.

7. Limelight
Author: Alyson Santos

I borrowed this one from KU almost a year ago, I think. It’s still sitting on my Kindle waiting for me to read it.

8. The Idea of You
Author: Robinne Lee

I have had this book for too long. I want to read it, but I know it’s going to hit the emotions and I so haven’t been ready for it this year.

9. Insatiable
Author: Melanie Harlow

Got this one for free, meant to read it, haven’t.

10. Ready Player Two
Author: Ernest Cline

I’m blaming this one on library hold time. I put a hold on the audiobook and still haven’t received it.

  1. I’m excited to see Us Against You on your list, because … you know, Backman. 😉 I can do you one better, though. I still haven’t read Beartown yet, for reasons. xD I tried to pick it up at the beginning of last year, but like you said, I decided I needed to read something else at the time, and I haven’t gotten back around to it yet.

Library hold times can be a bummer, especially these days, with a lot more people using digital books of some sort. I hope you get to read Ready Player Two soon!

    Here’s my TTT post.

  2. I read the first two and loved them both, and hope you do when you get to them. I just added The Wedding Deal to my TBR. I have read other books by Cindi Madsen and enjoyed them. I hope you like all of these.

  3. I hope you’re able to read all of these this year. I can totally relate with you about the library hold. It seems like forever that I’ve been waiting for one of mine.

  4. I read four of these (the first 3 and Hand’s book) and I whole-heartedly endorse these books. I gave three of them 5-stars, but all were great. I saw a lot of good reviews for The Idea of You, so I want to read it now too.

  5. I hope you get to these and that they’re awesome! I have so many books I never got to from last year. Good grief!!!

The Last Time We Say Goodbye looks good.

    1. I have only read Beartown and Anxious People by Backman. Both were good. This one is the follow up to Beartown. Happy reading!

    1. Yes, this just wasn’t the year for that kind of emotions for me. Hopefully, we can both read it this year.

  6. Getaway Girl has a great cover. It’s one I hadn’t heard of before so looked it up and it sounds really good. I might read Ready Player Two some time as well, I enjoyed the first book.
Hope you enjoy all these when you get around to them 🙂

  7. Us Against You has such a gorgeous cover! I keep forgetting Ready Player Two was released… turns out our library also started shelfing his books under adult, instead of YA, where they were until the second’s one release, so I never think to look for it during library visits. Though something tells me it’s staying checked out anyway. I hope you find time to get to all of these!

  8. Nice list. I wanted to read The Last Time We Said Goodbye, too.

Thanks for visiting my blog on Tuesday.
