Mid Year Freak Out Tag 2020

Well, June is almost over. It’s been a crazy 202o so far. What better way to celebrate(?) the first half of the year than with the MID YEAR FREAK OUT TAG?

BEST BOOK YOU’VE READ YET IN 2020

It was really hard to pick a favorite of 2020 so far. I have read many good books, but I’m going with You’d Be Mine because I feel like it made me the happiest when I looked back at all my books read this year. We all know we need happiness right now.

BEST SEQUEL YOU’VE READ SO FAR IN 2020

Since sequels continue a story, I’m going with Destructive. I’ve been waiting a long time for answers and my mind was blown.

NEW RELEASE YOU HAVEN’T READ YET BUT WANT TO

I love Kennedy Ryan’s books and I can’t wait to finally get to this one.

MOST ANTICIPATED RELEASE FOR THE SECOND HALF OF THE YEAR

Can I just say all of them? So many of my favorite authors are releasing new books in the next six months. I can’t even handle it! I chose Hands Down because it’s the newest addition to my TBR.

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT

The format of this book just killed it for me.

BIGGEST SURPRISE

The Sun Down Motel is a book I chose for BOTM when I accidentally forgot to cancel it. It sat on my shelf for months until I was in a mood to read something thriller like. I was surprised by how much I loved it.

FAVORITE NEW AUTHOR

This is tough. It’s a three way tie between Rebecca Jenshak, Karla Sorensen, and Kristen Callihan. These are the books that I first read by them that made me want more.

NEWEST FICTIONAL CRUSH

I don’t do fictional crushes, but my newest favorite male character is Maddox Paige from The Change Up.

NEWEST FAVORITE CHARACTER

Mackenzie’s brand of crazy cracked me up. I loved her.

BOOK THAT MADE YOU CRY

I’m pretty sure I shed a tear with this one. I haven’t really picked up books I know are going to be sad this year.

BOOK THAT MADE YOU HAPPY

The F List was just a fun reading experience with the right amount and kind of drama.

FAVORITE BOOK TO FILM ADAPTATION

I don’t think I’ve seen a new one this year. I’m trying to remember. We did watch the entire Hunger Games movie series, Crazy Rich Asians, and Ready Player One for a second time. So those?

MOST BEAUTIFUL BOOK YOU’VE BOUGHT THIS YEAR

Like cover or story? We’ll go cover. Chanel Cleeton’s are always my favorite.

WHAT BOOKS DO YOU NEED TO READ BY THE END OF THE YEAR

So, so many! Like I said above, there are so many new releases coming that I want to read.

  1. Enjoyed the F List myself, and Hands Down is definitely one of my most anticipated books of the rest of 2020. BTW I absolutely adore it that You’d Be Mine is your favorite book of the year so far 😍

  2. I was just thinking today that I need to do this tag soon. I got You’ be Mine from the library, but then I wasn’t in the mood for it, so I will need to request it again. Karla Sorensen has become a favorite new author this year for me, too. And I’m so happy to see The F List on here! That is one that really stands out for me this year.

  3. I love doing this tag every year. 🙂 I’m excited for Queen Move, too, but I was determined to read the All the King’s Men duet first. Rebecca Yarros will definitely make you cry with her tearjerkers!

  4. Oh no, this is the second time I’ve seen Again Again named as the most disappointing read and I’m sad. I was really looking forward to reading that (I’m a total sucker for that cover for some reason) but I don’t think I’ll be jumping through hoops to get my hands on it now. Also, a new Zapata book?! I had no idea 😀 How exciting! Great post 🙂

    1. YES! Do! If you’re in the mood for YA, it’s so good! Queen Move… Well, I have only gotten to 13% so far. I’m just not feeling it. 🙁 I stopped to read Spoiler Alert. I’ll try to go back when I’m finished with that one and we’ll see. Usually I love her books.

  5. I can’t wait to start The Sun Down Motel now! Hopefully tonight if I kind find some time. 😉 I also can’t wait to read The Last Train To Key West! xx
