Synopsis:

BREAKING NEWS: The Bad Boy of Baseball, Maddox Paige, is totally and utterly whipped.

Okay, that might not be the headlines in the newspaper this morning, but it’s the reality of my current situation.

It all started a month ago when I received a call from my best friend, Kinsley. She got a new job in Chicago and needed a place to stay. I’ve known the girl since I was five, what harm would it be to have her stay at my place for a while?

Ha! Total disaster.

Now instead of going out every night with my teammates, I’m couch surfing and sketching endless photos of my best friend . . . but that’s the least of my concerns.

The disaster, you ask? I’m rapidly falling head over cleats in love with my best friend, my roommate, and my number one fan.

And she has no idea . . .

Meghan Quinn hit this one out of the ballpark. I love each and every book she throws my way from this group of players. Each new book is always my new favorite, but this one… Well, it’s really my favorite. What’s so special about it?

The Change Up is a best friends to lovers book where said best friends don’t realize they have feelings for each other until they’re roommates. This trope is one of my favorites in romance. Maddox and Kinsley already having an amazing friendship, so it’s like adding icing to the cake with their falling for each other. Plus, it was so much fun to read about a guy who is supposed to be baseball’s baddest falling for a recycling, animal loving vegan. They seem so opposite, but work so well together. There was just so much to swoon over when it came to their relationship.

I debated taking away half a star on my rating because there was one thing I didn’t feel resolved. The whole Maddox and Manny thing was left open. Kinsley and Maddox’s issues around him were resolved, but the reason they had issues wasn’t. I felt like I needed a little bit more closure on that end. Maybe it’s coming in another book someday? Honestly, it didn’t upset the vibe of this book to make me love it any less. That was more just a thought in the back of my mind.

So, yeah. Read this book if you like a great best friends to lovers romance.

    1. Yay! I think every one of them could be read as a standalone, but they are more fun as a series. And each book in the series gets better.

  1. This one seems like it’s checking a lot of my boxes. Best friends to lovers is one of my favorite tropes. Then there’s forced proximity/roommates. Love it. Is this first person POV from Maddox? I just love being in the guy’s head. 🙂
