Top Ten Tuesday: Freebie – 50 States Challenge

Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday!

Top Ten Tuesday is an original weekly feature created by The Broke and the Bookish and is now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is a freebie, so I thought I would share a challenge I’ve been working on. It’s a 50 States Challenge to see if I can read a book set in each state. It’s not really a Top Ten, but I thought it would be fun to share. Here’s how I’ve done so far.

  1. That is such a cool challenge. I’d actually love to read more books based in Hawaii, admittedly it’s one of my dream destinations, but the mix of cultures and the history of the state is so fascinating.

    1. Thank you!
I adore Hawaii! Maui is my favorite island. Hawaiian Islands are just so beautiful. I hope you get to go there some day. I’ve read a few set there — The Descendants and Juniors by Kaui Hart Hemmings are ones I can remember. I’ve heard Molokai is good book, too.

  2. I’ve thought about doing a states challenge like this a few times- it sounds so fun! You’ve done pretty great! I imagine some states are harder to find than others…

  3. This is my second year in a row doing the 50 states challenge, and let me tell you, some states are really hard to find books for. I don’t just want to read a book, I want to read something I will enjoy. I have hit 40/50 so far. I didn’t realize The Douchebag books take place in Iowa. I have a few of those. YEAH! Because, I DNFed the Iowa book I was reading. Good luck!

    1. I’m glad you found one on my list that will help with yours! I am the same. I want to read books I like, not just certain ones because of the states. I’m hoping most of these will work out.

    1. Thank you! Yes, I’m having to pay more attention. Then it drives me nuts when I can’t figure out where it’s set. Or I’ve noticed I’ve read a lot of books lately set in NY and Texas.

    1. I don’t know that I’ve even read one book set in PR, so there definitely needs to be more!
