A heartwarming and refreshing debut novel that proves one thing: there’s not enough data in the world to predict what will make your heart tick.
Stella Lane thinks math is the only thing that unites the universe. She comes up with algorithms to predict customer purchases–a job that has given her more money than she knows what to do with, and way less experience in the dating department than the average thirty-year-old.
It doesn’t help that Stella has Asperger’s and French kissing reminds her of a shark getting its teeth cleaned by pilot fish. Her conclusion: she needs lots of practice–with a professional. Which is why she hires escort Michael Phan. The Vietnamese and Swedish stunner can’t afford to turn down Stella’s offer, and agrees to help her check off all the boxes on her lesson plan–from foreplay to more-than-missionary position…
Before long, Stella not only learns to appreciate his kisses, but to crave all the other things he’s making her feel. Soon, their no-nonsense partnership starts making a strange kind of sense. And the pattern that emerges will convince Stella that love is the best kind of logic…
How can this be Helen Hoang’s début novel? It was a MASTERPIECE!
The Kiss Quotient follows two unique characters as they fall in love. Stella, an econometrician with Aspberger’s, is unlucky in love. She decides to hire an escort, Michael, to teach her how to seduce a man. Stella’s hoping Michael will be able to teach her what she needs to know about sex and relationships, but what Stella doesn’t count on is falling for Michael in the process.
The Kiss Quotient was perfection. I don’t think I’ve ever read a book quite like it. It was the most adorably sweet and subtly sexy romance I’ve ever read. That’s crazy, right? The hero is a male escort. You would think this book would be filthy. It wasn’t, though. It was so tender and moved at a pace that went perfectly with Stella’s character. Michael got Stella in ways no one else did. Stella saw things in Michael he couldn’t see for himself. Their entire relationship was so sweet and made me swoon the entire time I was listening to it. I couldn’t get enough of this book.
There’s so much more to say about this book, but I just can’t put it into words. The Kiss Quotient is my new favorite book of 2018. It was so well written and heart warming. I absolutely loved it! I want everyone to read it. If you want an extra special experience, I recommend listening to it. The narrator did an amazing job bring the characters to life.
