Top Ten Tuesday: Ten Bookish Settings I’d Love to Visit

Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday!

Top Ten Tuesday is an original weekly feature created by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic is Ten Bookish Settings I’d Love to Visit. I’m going with real life bookish settings this week. Here they are…

1. The Bookworm Box

I would love to visit the actual bookstore in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Whether you love or hate Colleen Hoover’s books, you have to agree that she does so much for the community. I love that the bookstore proceeds go to charity.

2. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Universal Studios

I would someday like to take my daughter to visit Harry Potter’s world. It could be in Orlando or California. I’m not picky. I just think it would be so much fun!

3. Powell’s City of Books – Portland, Oregon

Okay, okay. I’ve already been there several of times, but I LOVE IT. It’s so big, it’s almost overwhelming. I’ve mostly done quick stop in visits, but I would love to spend a day looking through their stacks, sipping coffee, and reading.

4. Port Townsend, Washington

I don’t know that I’ve ever really been to Port Townsend even though I live in Washington. After reading Tarryn Fisher’s F*ck Love, I would really like to go visit and experience the community there.

5. Forks, Washington

I know, I know. I should have done this during the Twilight craze. I still would like to go there, though. My husband worked in the area several years back. He got to see it, but I didn’t.

6. South Carolina

I love fiction set in the South. I’ve read a ton of Karen White’s novels, and almost all are set in this state. I would love to visit it, and see some of the history and setting in her books. Plus, I have a friend who lives there!

7. Crepe de France

I want to go try this crepe restaurant in Pike Place Market because Tarryn Fisher wrote about it in Atheists Who Kneel and Pray. I want to know if it’s as good as Crepe Neptune in Cannon Beach, Oregon. Plus, Pike Place is always fun.

I didn’t quite come up with ten places this week. Sorry. This was all I could think of!

  1. I love this post! My dream is to go to Washington – Seattle, Port Townsend, Forks. All of it. I visited my brother in South Carolina and the Barnes and Noble there had a whole section dedicated to Karen White and other Charleston authors. It was pretty cool. And some day I will visit The Bookworm Box. And hopefully meet Colleen Hoover.

    • If you ever make it to Washington, let me know! It would be fun to meet up for coffee or something. 🙂 I recommend July or August. The weather is generally nicest. 😉

  2. Great list, I would love to go to any or all of these places. I’ve only been to the states once and it was to go to Disney in Florida so there is so much more I want to explore. Maybe someday.

Would also really love to go to any of the Harry Potter places. Just need to find someone to drag along with me.
