Top Ten Tuesday: Lucky I’m in Love with My Best Friend

Top Ten Tuesday is an original weekly feature created by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s theme is All About Romance Tropes/Types. I decided to go with Lucky I’m in Love with My Best Friend to celebrate some of my favorite best friends to lovers romances.

  1. Aw. I love this topic! Let’s see, off the top of my head my list would contain Aristotle & Dante (Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe) and Parzival & Art3mis (Ready Player One). Fun list!

    1. I am reading Ready Player One right now! I’m only just past them meeting, but I can’t wait to see where the story goes now that you say that! 🙂

  2. I absolutely adore friend to lovers romances. There something so sweet and tender about those relationships, it just feels natural. I have On the Fence so hopefully I can get round to reading it soon.

    1. You should just put it at the top of your list. It’s one my favorite YA contemporaries ever. (Hopefully, it lives up to that now!)

  3. I love this trope (and I love the song too which I now have in my head lol). Gonna have to check out the Kasie West book and the Bella Andre one … and Adorkable looks too cute to pass up!

    1. Haha! I sang it to myself while writing this post. Yes, definitely read anything by Kasie West. Her YA romances are adorable. I could also see you enjoying the Sullivan series by Bella Andre. Strong family ties throughout the series. Happy Valentine’s Day!

  4. Great list!!! I can’t thank you enough. I need to read a Friends to Lovers book for a challenge and I’m going to grab one of the ones I haven’t read on your list! I’m thinking Sincerely Carter or Adorkable!

  5. I found Appealed to be more of a Enemy-to-Lovers or Childhood Friends-to-Lovers kind of romance than a best friend romance! I didn’t really like that book though… and I still haven’t read anything by Kasie West yet, oops.

    1. Yeah, I guess my best friends to lovers with Appeal might be kind of a stretch. Opps. It was probably my least favorite in the series. Did you read Jake’s book? That is my favorite. Love him!

  6. I love this trope! A lot of romance novels have no real foundation to base the relationship on if you’re taking away the sex/sexual attraction, but if it’s between best friends, there already is something, that is connecting them.

I think I have to read Adorkable – the title alone is great and it has got the fake boyfriend trope as well!
