Top Ten Tuesday is an original weekly feature created by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s theme is Top Ten 2016 Releases I Meant To Read But Didn’t Get To (But TOTALLY plan to). I changed this up a bit to Top Ten Books I Meant To Read in 2016 But Didn’t Get To (But TOTALLY plan to). This list could be way longer than ten. There were so many books I wanted to read but didn’t get to. 🙁 Thinking about it makes me sad. Especially since I own all of these books. Shame on me!
Well, let’s get on with it. All titles link to the books’ Goodreads page.
He Will Be My Ruin is also on my list. I had plans to read it when it released, but a few of the ARC reviews were not looking too good, so I’ve been hesitant to pick it up. I’m hoping it’ll be a quick read even if I don’t end up liking it.
I hadn’t heard that. I got it on some sale for like $.99 or something. Hopefully it’s good!
I really want to read Since You’ve Been Gone too. I hope you get to these!
Krystianna @ Downright Dystopian
Thanks! I hope so, too! 🙂
He Will Be My Ruin is really good! The Serpent King made my list, too. And I wanted to read Arrowood and didn’t get to it, either.
That’s good to know! Sounds like we’ll be reading a lot of the same books this year!
Argh. I meant to read Flight Patterns too!! My TTT
Ugh. I know. So disappointed in myself on that one.
I own all of Morgan Matson’s books and been meaning to read them, but haven’t gotten around to them yet. She wrote a couple series under the name Katie Finn and I loved those series. Hopefully I like all of her other books! The Serpent King is so amazing! You definitely need to get to that one!
That’s good to know! I only own the one Matson book, but I’ve wanted to read her for a while now.
Unwritten looks really intriguing! I may have to look it up! I hope you enjoy these books when you get around to them.
Thank you! I hope I do, too!
I find the books I own get shuffled to the bottom of my TBR pile. After all, if I got it for a review, I need to read it to do that. And if I got it from the library, I have to give it back to them. On the other hand, owning these books will make it easier when you do get to them. Happy reading! 🙂
I have the exact same problem!
This is a great list. He will be my ruin sounds like a great read. I have read Since you’ve been gone and really enjoyed it – hopefully you will too ?
Thank you!
I didn’t get around to reading any of these titles either even though I was interested in all of them. Happy reading!
I hope you get to read them soon, too!
The first book loks like something I would read. And the covers are all eye catching.
I feel like I’ve had Arrowood on hold at the library forever! I wish they had more copies available.
Boo! That is no fun. It was one of the two books I got for Christmas. I’m excited to get to it.
I have Since You’ve Been Gone on my shelf. I bought it after I really enjoyed The Unexpected Everything. I hope you get to all the books on your list and that you enjoy them!
I have it sitting on my shelf, but I haven’t read any of her other books. I’m excited to get to experience one of them.
Ooooh! The Serpent King is fantastic!!! I hope you get to that one soon! I also would really like to read Since You’ve Been Gone!
I love hearing this from everyone. It makes me even more excited to read it!
I’ve not read any Mia Sheridan, but I’d love read one of hers this year. I’ve heard such great things about her books. I hope you get a chance to fit them all in! 🙂
Start with Archer’s Choice. It’s AMAZING!
I have heard that. I will be sure to start with that one! 🙂
Oh The Serpent King was one of my favorite books last year. Good luck getting through your tbr 🙂
That’s great to know! Thanks!
Resisting Roots is one for me too! I love Audrey Carlan. I’ve finished her Calendar Girl series and am trying to venture into her other series too. I’ve heard some good things about Karen White too. Have you read anything by her before?
I’ve read all of Karen White’s books and have loved them. She combines mystery, romance and history all together. I adored Calendar Girl, too!
I may have to check out Karen White then!
I highly recommend The Serpent King! I read it a while back and it was so sad but also lovely and pretty damn good. I didn’t much like Since You’ve Been Gone, but many people love it. 🙂
Good to know! I can’t wait to read them both.
OMG I have quite a few of these that I wanted to read too! Not to mention a thousand more that didn’t make your list!
Good luck Deanna!!
Thanks! You, too!
The Serpent King was SO good, and I dont read contemporary often so I feel like thats saying something? I cried though, so be prepared. Since I made this list, Since Youve Been Gone has been recommended to me four times! So I guess Ill be adding that to my list.
Oh, that’s great to know! 🙂
I’ve heard great things about The Serpent King. 🙂
Great list. I only recognize a few of them, but I have heard good things about The Serpent King.
Thank you!
The Serpent King is amazing! I’ve read it twice already and it’s on my list of top ten books. If you like reading YA contemporaries that will have you feeling about a thousand different emotions at once, this is the one for you. Also, you will need tissues for this one. All the tissues.
I’ve heard really good things about Arrowood, too. I haven’t had the chance to read that one, but it sounds like such a great book!
That’s awesome! I love books like that.
I read McHugh’s first book and really liked it, so I’m sure Arrowood is going to be great. If you haven’t read The Weight of Blood, I’d definitely recommend it.
I’ll be over here waiting for you to read my top Contemporary of 2016 in The Serpent King. Our friendship hinges on this, Dea.
Uh-oh. I better get on it, then!
I’m only familiar with Since You’ve Been Gone and The Serpent King from this list! But I like being introduced to new books 🙂 I hope that you get to read all of them this year! 😀
I really enjoyed Off The Record, I ended up reading the series. Can’t wait for the 5th book! 🙂
I REALLY want to read Since You’ve Been Gone. Love Morgan Matson! Great list!
Thank you!
