For Luna Kipling, moving to Bedford Falls is a fresh start—a chance to let go of the mistakes of the past and start over with a clean slate. It’s a chance to find real love, with someone who values and respects her mind and heart rather than just her body.

And that someone is not contractor Travis Scott, even if his hammer is big and he knows how to use it…

The more I read Kate Perry’s books, the more I enjoy them. Her writing always has a serene and dreamy feel to it. It doesn’t matter what trials or tribulations her characters are going through, I can always count on Kate Perry to get them where they need to be in a realistic and self-discovering way.

In Stars Shining Bright Above, Perry returns once again to Bedford Falls. It’s mystic shop owner Luna’s turn to find love this time, and she gets her chance with Bedford Fall’s favorite construction guy.

The last thing Luna or Travis is looking for is love. Luna’s done with changing herself for a man only to have her heart-broken. Travis is happy avoiding the women of Bedford Falls by hooking up with women from out-of-town. When a burst pipe brings them together, neither can deny the attraction they feel for each other and the longing for their relationship to be something more.

I loved Luna’s desire to have a man accept her for who she was. So many times in life, we try to be the person we think someone wants us to be rather than the person we really are. Her determination to show not only herself and Travis but the entire town who she was on the inside was commendable. I did have a little bit of a hard time relating to Luna’s mystical side, though. Her character was a little out of my comfort zone at times.

Travis was an awesome leading man. I loved everything about him! From the way he treated Luna to the way he cared for his family, he had me swooning. I even liked the way he fought with Luna.

My favorite thing about Stars Shining Bright Above was how real Travis and Luna’s relationship struggles felt. Each had a valid point. I loved that it wasn’t a matter of right or wrong, but of compromise.

Stars Shining Bright Above was a wonderful addition to the Bedford Falls series. It’s a book contemporary romance readers are sure to enjoy.
