Synopsis:

Choose the one guy you can’t have . . .

As captain of a San Francisco Bay tour boat, Pru can handle rough seas—the hard part is life on dry land. Pru loves her new apartment and her neighbors; problem is, she’s in danger of stumbling into love with Mr. Right for Anybody But Her.

Fall for him—hard . . .

Pub owner Finn O’Riley is six-foot-plus of hard-working hottie who always makes time for his friends. When Pru becomes one of them, she discovers how amazing it feels to be on the receiving end of that deep green gaze. But when a freak accident involving darts (don’t ask) leads to shirtless first aid, things rush way past the friend zone. Fast.

And then tell him the truth.

Pru only wants Finn to be happy; it’s what she wishes for at the historic fountain that’s supposed to grant her heart’s desire. But wanting him for herself is a different story—because Pru’s been keeping a secret that could change everything. . . .

Fans of Jill Shalvis are going to love her new Heartbreaker Bay series. Sweet Little Lies, the first book in the series, is filled with fun, quirky characters. They’re all friends and take care of each other. The friends who are the focus of Sweet Little Lies are Pru and Finn.

Pru is the newest member of the group. She’s recently moved into their apartment building. Pru’s made it her mission to put some fun back into Finn’s life. Finn spends all his time keeping his family bar afloat. All Pru wants for him is to step out of his comfort zone and find love. She’s going to do everything she can to make it happen — including throwing a coin into a fountain to wish for love for him.

Pru’s plan seems to be working, with one exception. Finn seems to be falling for her…and she’s falling for him. Except she can’t do that…Pru’s keeping a really big secret from Finn.

I had a blast reading this book. It was filled with Jill Shalvis’ trademark humor and a very sweet love story. It was just so much fun to read! My only little complaint about Sweet Little Lies was the predictability of the story. It was all laid out for the reader, so there weren’t any surprises. Besides being able to foresee what was going to happen, it was still a great contemporary romance read. I loved it! I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
