Top Ten Tuesday: Ten Reasons I Love My Kindle Paperwhite

Top Ten Tuesday is an original weekly feature created at The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s theme is Ten Reasons I Love X — could be a certain book, character, author, your indie bookstore, a fandom, a tv show, reading, a hobby, a genre. Honestly anything you want to gush about.Β I decided to go with my Kindle because I was having a hard time choosing what to gush about and coming up with ten reasons.

  1. I don’t have to store as many physical books.

  2. I can make the font bigger so my eyes don’t hurt if I read as long.

  3. It’s less cumbersome to hold than a book. (Less muscle aches!)

  4. No one knows what I’m reading when I’m in public.

  5. There are so many great e-book deals out there (Bookbub, Kindle Daily Deals, etc.)

  6. It has a backlight so I can read in the dark.

  7. I can easily share e-books with my friends inΒ other places.

  8. I can borrow one book a month from the Prime Lending Library.

  9. I use AmazonSmile, so a portion of my book purchases go towards my daughter’s school.

  10. My husband has no clue how quickly I read books or how many I go through since he just sees my Kindle. πŸ˜‰

Are there any reasons I missed?

    • Thank you! Aentee @ Read at Midnight made it for me. She has a design shop and does amazing stuff. πŸ™‚
I hope you get one! πŸ™‚

  1. I will admit, since having an ereader myself I have realised the convenience. Before I was heavily opposed! I don’t own a Kindle Paperwhite but now I am convincing myself I need one – great post πŸ™‚

    • Haha! You really do need one. πŸ˜‰ I love mine so much. It’s like reading a book instead of a computer screen. So much easier on the eyes. Thanks!

    • I feel like I read faster that way, too. Maybe it’s because I don’t really notice how long the book is?

  2. Great list! I’m really in love with my Kindle Paperwhite as well. The biggest draw for me is the backlight. I cannot tell you how many nights I’ve stayed up reading while my husband’s gone to bed!

  3. I have a Touch which I got just before the Paperwhite came out, though I stare longingly at them sometimes. Have you seen the fancy new one? The Voyage looks impressively light and sleek.

One of my favorite things about an ebook reader is that you can check out an electronic version of a library book, and return it with a click. No effort! And if you forget, no late fees, either, it just vanishes from your reader. πŸ™‚

  4. I don’t have an e-reader but I have been contemplating on whether or not I should invest in one but I like the benefits that come with them. I’ll have to research in to some models and see which one takes my fancy, any recommendations?

    • I love my Paperwhite. I haven’t spent too much time checking out others. I did have a Kindle Keyboard before that. I think what I love so much about the Paperwhite is the backlight and how easy it is to read on.

  5. Your new page theme is SO soopah pretty–LOVE the header image! Soft colors are the booooomb.

I don’t have a paperwhite, but I love my Kindle for most of the reasons you listed here. Also, YES to that last one–my hubby doesn’t know just how many ebooks I purchase on a weekly basis, unless he pays attention to my Stacking the Shelves posts. >.> At least, I convince myself I’m being sneakeh, though…I doubt I really am.

Great post! Thanks so much for sharing, and for stopping by my TTT this week! <3

    • Thank you! I must give Aentee @ Read at Midnight credit. She designed a beautiful header. πŸ™‚
I think a lot of us are hiding books from our significant others. Haha!

    • Love it! I would still have my Kindle Keyboard, if it hadn’t broken last year. It was in my backpack and the screen got pushed too hard. It was no longer readable. πŸ™ So I had to upgrade. πŸ˜‰

      • My mp3 player died awhile ago, it was traumatic to have to replace it. I’ve heard good things about the Paperwhite though, so once my Keyboard dies that’s probably what I’ll get.

        • You’ll love it!
I tried to comment on your TTT post. Hopefully, it went through! πŸ™‚

          • No, unfortunately it doesn’t appear to have come through. Booklikes has been having some problems with their system lately. Sorry, thanks for trying.

  6. hehehe – I love reason #10! Great list. I use the Kindle Reader and it is great – so convenient, you always have a book. And I’ve gotten great bargains through BookBub. But I still love the feel of a real book too. πŸ™‚
