For the past nine years, I’ve kept my heart as far away from my dick as possible.
Those two can’t be anywhere near each other. They don’t play nice, and one of them undoubtedly winds up getting hurt.
Not my dick. My dick is good.
The women I take home know exactly what they’re getting from me—sex. Nothing more. At least, that’s what’s supposed to happen. The sweet brunette from Kentucky I set my sights on tonight shouldn’t have been any different. I had her right where I wanted her. Where I needed her. But when my past comes walking into McGill’s pub, the woman in my arms decides to take things to a whole new level, putting me into a situation I never saw coming.
My heart is about to get fucked. My dick can sit this one out.
I’ve been binge reading the Alabama Summers books this past week. I couldn’t help myself. I love the group of friends in this series and had to read each of their stories. I was especially excited to get Reed’s story.
Reed Tennyson is a ladies man. He has strict rules when it comes to women, and he always follows them. Or at least he did until Beth Davis comes walking into the pub he picks up women in. One conversation with Beth and Reed’s entire life changes in an instant. The man who never gets attached finds himself doing just that.
I’m all about a cocky womanizer finding his match and this version of that trope was so much fun! I’ve really gotten to know Reed over the course of the series, and he definitely met his match in Beth. Their story was so sweet (And hot! And funny! I can’t forget those things!). They found something in each other that helped both of them heal from their pasts. I loved the way they connected and how their relationship played out. It was so much fun to read!
I also adored all of the new and old friendships in this book. The friendships have driven this entire series, and were so important to Reed and Beth’s relationship. I loved the part Reed’s best friends Tessa and Mia played in this story. Their meddling was cute and funny.
When I Fall was such a great romantic read. I loved it just as much as I’ve loved the rest of the series. I highly recommend it to romance readers who like series involving a close-knit group of friends all finding love when or where they least expect it.
