I Messed Up Tag

The I Messed Up Tag is all about mistakes you’ve made when it comes to books.

Thank you to Joey @ Thoughts and Afterthoughts for tagging me!

A Character’s Appearance You Misread or Imagined Differently

I shouldn’t even be admitting this. It’s a lot a little embarrassing. When I read romance novels, it doesn’t really matter how the hero is described. I pretty much always imagine Nick Bateman as the dude. Sorry, not sorry!

A Character Name You’ve Been Pronouncing Incorrectly

Bone Marrow. Yes, I know it’s Mare Barrow. I just can’t help myself. Victoria Aveyard had to know people would take the whole Red business and think Bone Marrow every time they saw Mare Barrow. It’s just too perfect.

An Overused Trope That Is Your Guilty Pleasure

I love a good friends to lovers romance. They’re just so…sigh. I could read them over and over and never get bored.

A Cliched Character Type You Enjoy More Viewing On Screen Than Reading About

The nerdy guy who gets the beautiful girl. I love it!

A Word/Phrase You Learned Because of Its Use In A Book

I was going to steal Joey’s ANYONE CAN BETRAY ANYONE because I see that one becoming a classic, but I’ll go with with this one to be different:

“DO EPIC” – Kim Holden, Bright Side

Have You Ever Not Read or Completed a Required Reading Book For School

Well, it’s been a long time since I was in school, but I’ll admit to skimming through some 300 level Humanities books. I’m sorry, but it was really hard to focus on Nietzche and Darwin at the time.

Have You Ever (Or Wanted To) Skipped A Chapter From the POV of a Character You Weren’t Interested In

No, but I can tell you which I wanted to.

Pivot Point by Kasie West: There are two points of view. I absolutely hated one of them.

A Feast for Crows by George R.R. Martin: The fourth book added in new characters I didn’t really care about. I wanted to skip this book and go straight to book 5.

Have You Ever Cancelled Social Plans To Read A Book

No, but I’ve wanted to!

    • LOL! I know, right? Dang…
He’s actually been cast as Miles Archer in the movie adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s Ugly Love.

  1. I agree about A Feast for Crows. My over-riding memory of it is reading thinking, “But where are all the characters I care about? Who are these people?!”

    Thanks for the tag!
