The “I Messed Up” Book Tag

http---www.pixteller.com-pdata-t-l-356793

I feel like I’m constantly messing up, so this is a good tag for me! Lol. Thanks to Jess @ The Mud and Stars Book Blog for the tag. Check out her amazing blog. It’s a lot of fun. 🙂

A character appearance that you misread or imagined differently:

Hmm…That’s a hard one. I’m drawing a blank. Probably any male character from a romance novel. I kind of make up what I think they look like in my head rather than pay much attention to the authors’ descriptions.

A character name that you’ve been pronouncing wrong:

Oh, gosh. Of course, that chick from Harry PotterAnd of course Mare Barrow  Bone Marrow from Red Queen. But most recently, it’s Obe from Save Me, Kurt Cobain. In my head his name is pronounced Oh-bee instead of Oh-b.

An overused trope that is your guilty pleasure:

I love me some best friends turned lovers. *Swoon*

A cliché character type that you like better on screen than reading about:

The ugly duckling who is made over into a swan by either a guy or her best friend.

A word/phrase you learned because of its use in a book:

DUFF from The Duff. I had no idea! (I hope that doesn’t mean I was the DUFF!) Haha!

Have you ever not read or completed a required reading book for school?

I cannot confirm nor deny that I may or may not have finished reading a few Humanities 300 level books back in college…

Have you ever (or wanted to) skipped a chapter from the point of view of a character you weren’t interested in?

Yes, I will admit it. I have. Well, not skipped entirely, but I have skimmed through.

Have you ever cancelled social plans to read a book?

No, I can honestly say I haven’t. Not that I haven’t wanted to…

  1. I love your answers, and I can relate to quite a few of those, actually. It’s so weird, but I think it happens to me quite a lot: the first time I read a character’s description, I imagine it, but then, a few pages later, I’m back to imagining it the way I like, ahah. Sometimes some descriptions aren’t too strong or making a big impression on me, I guess?
Oh, and The DUFF. I had no idea, either. I hope I wasn’t one, hahaha.

    • Yay! Thank you!
I think that’s what is so great about books compared to movies. You get to choose what you want everyone to look like in your head.
Neither of us were the DUFF. I know it. 😉

  2. Thanks for doing the tag – I loved reading your answers! I always make up my own image of what love interests look like too, and completely ignore the author’s description of their appearance. “Bone Marrow” haha – that cracked me up! And now I’m not going to be able to stop calling her that when I read the next book! Best friends to lovers is my favourite guilty pleasure trope too 🙂
