Synopsis:

Life is full of expectations. For Brady Coldwell it’s always been about the game. Hockey is and always will be, his life. His family sacrificed everything to get him here and he won’t let them down. He knows what’s expected of him. Natalie Banks is no different. She too knows what it means to have everyone sacrifice for you. She knows about the debt that’s left owing in the end and the price you pay for making up your own mind. But when an innocent mistake lands them as roommates, neither of them is prepared for the feelings they have or the consequences of their actions. How do you negotiate matters of the heart? How do you say no when it simply feels so right?

I have to admit, I’m a sucker for a good NA hockey romance. There are so many amazing ones out there! I can’t help myself when I see one. I have to read it.

I wasn’t quite sure what to think of Roommates at the beginning. Natalie came off a little pretentious at first. After getting into the book a bit I understood that it was just setting up her home life, but it made her seem so entitled at first. That combined with Brady’s man-whore ways made me wonder how Roommates was going to make me fall in love with these two characters and how they were going to fall for each other.

I didn’t have to wait long. The story quickly became very cute and fun to read. I loved watching good girl Nat struggle with doing what she wanted versus what was expected of her. Rooming with super-hot Brady sure didn’t make it easy on her!

Brady…Well, like I said, I didn’t like him at first. He was such a hockey playing man-whore. His trysts grossed me out. (Although, I do have to admit they were a little funny.) BUT Brady was actually a decent guy. He ended up redeeming himself pretty quickly and I adored the way he was with Nat.

The secondary characters in the book were entertaining to read as well. I loved Nat’s co-workers and her best friend. Brady’s hockey buds were probably my favorite, though. I loved reading their take on Brady’s attraction to Natalie. (I would love a sequel with any of these characters!)

As for the hockey part of the story, I loved the way the author included actual game scenarios and not just players. Brady was just as hot and fun on the ice as he was off of it.

Overall, Roommates was a great NA romance. I couldn’t put it down and read it in one day. It would have gotten 5 stars from me if I didn’t have to read a couple of Brady’s sexual encounters with puck bunnies. (Just, ewwww!)
